Tutor Corps

Tutor Corps Vision and Mission

The aim of CPS Tutor Corps is to provide students with high-quality personalized high-dosage tutoring utilizing common interventions in reading and math (grades K-5 Literacy, 6-12 Math) at scale across Chicago Public Schools. High dosage tutoring is defined as tutoring for a minimum of 30 minutes per session that takes place during the school day, in a small group setting, at a frequency of at least three times per week through the duration of the school year. The Tutor Corps program is an innovative partnership between the Office of Teaching and Learning (Department of Student Assessment & MTSS), vendor partners, and school leaders. The Tutor Corps program is also working closely with the University of Chicago Education Lab, which is conducting a study to help understand and improve tutoring implementation.

At Nobel we have tutors that:
- Service 1st and 2nd Grade students with Reading tutoring using Amira
- Service 6th, 7th & 8th graders with Math tutoring using Saga Math resources
- work with students at least 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes in a small group setting
